Our Farm
Michigan Native Butterfly Farm is located on seven acres in the Oak Openings region of Southeastern Michigan and is home to more than 50 species of indigenous butterflies. We have abundant milkweed and native plants that support the life cycle of these butterflies, as well as cultivated gardens with favorite annual and perennial flowers for nectar.
We raise Monarch, Painted Lady, Red Admiral and Cabbage White butterflies for release, exhibit, and education in addition to various indigenous species including Pipevine, Spicebush, Tiger, Eastern Black, Giant, and Zebra Swallowtails, Mourning Cloaks, Question Marks, Commas, Gulf Fritillaries, Variegated Fritillaries, Buckeyes, and American Ladies.
As licensed nursery growers, we have a diverse product line designed to help create habitat that promotes the life cycle of butterflies ensuring that future generations will prosper. Each plant has been carefully selected to support the most common North American butterflies through each stage of development.
Our farm is not open to the public.
